Top Picks by Vincent Mulford

When Public Sale opened in Summer 2020, our premier auction featured items from the storied Vincent Mulford Antiques, which had recently closed after being a fixture in Hudson for decades.

This included hitherto not-for-sale pieces from the basement and other farther reaches of the building, whose every room Mulford had artfully arranged with his eclectic finds.

For our one-year anniversary, we’ve invited Mulford back to select his top picks from our upcoming August 28th “Beauty and the Beast” auction. Among Mulford’s picks are a stunning Jardiniere signed by Vinent Garnier, a primitive bench, an industrial metal-top table, an IP Frink chandelier, and an Eastlake chest of drawers.

One can almost feel this small collection forming into an interior in a process similar to what Mulford described in a 2012 Cottages and Gardens profile:

“I’ve never painted with a brush—I create rooms.”
