This prototype Bauhaus style modular cabinet was designed and handmade by Charles G. Weiss of Hoboken NJ in 1985. The 6-piece "Circle Seat" can be configured in hundreds of ways, including a butterfly-shaped shelf and throne-like chair. Made of birch plywood with a white applied finish, each section has a small spring-hinged door panel to allow for interior soft storage. From the estate of the artist and included in Public Sale’s Modern Blueprint auction. Shown here in five of its many possible configurations.
